The truth is that although a sizable majority of workers in EMEA can see the benefit of automation on businesses (69%), less than a third (30%) saw it as having a positive impact on employees. This sentiment was particularly strong in Germany, where 47% of respondents had a negative view of automation’s impact on employees.
Worker worries about automation are real, and as innovation picks up, organisations will have to find ways to combine human and digital skills productively and inclusively. The good news is that the Workforce Resilience Leaders (those organisations that are leading the way on productivity and profits) seem to be doing this successfully – 61% have automated aspects of their business to improve workforce resilience, and they continue to report high levels of worker satisfaction.
